Bookkeeper/Accounts Payable

At American Products, Inc. (API), we manufacture architectural metal products locally from our facilities in Oldsmar, Fl. These products include, but are not limited to the following: Storefronts, Doors, Canopies, Sunshades, ACM panel systems, Brake metal, Awnings, Roof screens, and handrails. Some of the largest national chains in the country are our customers, such as, Forever 21, H&M, Carrabbas, Chipotle, Footlocker, Lululemon, Warby Parker, Old Navy, Athleta, etc.

We are looking for a Bookkeeper that will work hands on in all aspects of accounting of a manufacturing company, including AP/AR, general ledger, and journal entries all the while helping to identify cost control measures to enhance profitability.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

  • Hands on in all day to day financial operations including: general accounting, AP/AR, cash recording, reconciliations, sales tax, reporting, job costing, etc.
  • Prepare and enter month end entries
  • Assist in financial administration, planning and budgeting.
  • Extensive job costing of manufactured products and construction install projects
  • Obtain primary financial data for accounting records
  • Check the accuracy of business transactions
  • Perform data entry and administrative duties, including filing and organizing financial records.

Bookkeeper Requirements:

  • Have knowledge and experience in bookkeeping and accounting, including payroll, payroll taxes, sales taxes, accounts payable and bank reconciliations;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work hands on daily in all aspects of accounting.
  • Comfortable in a small team environment.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and assist in preparing meaningful financial reports and statements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is an absolute must, as well strong overall computer skills.
  • Prior experience in Manufacturing and/or Construction strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with AIA Billing a plus.
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Customer service skills
